Jakitza breaks up the fight. Now with extra spellcasting.
This momentary lapse of Niriko's judgement has allowed me to use an old narrative trick called foreshadowing, or, in this case, the Chekhov's Gun principle. Well, I've actually planted several such guns all along these pages, the reason why it's taking so long to get to the actual CTF match. Since I want to avoid the Harlem Globetrotter's cartoon syndrome (for those who remember there was such a cartoon), whereas the good guys start losing and then after some inspirational whatever, they inexplicably start kicking the ass during the second half that was not kicked during the first. That's cheap, and boring, so the actual match will be the stage where many Checkhov Guns will start going off :)
Also, this is bonus update week! Expect to read what Jakitza says with the silence she's earned no later than this Thursday.
And extra cookie points for anyone under 30-years old who identifies where the title of this post comes from :)
